Fancy becoming a diver and joining our club? Diving, why do we do it? Well we do it for very different personal reasons be it an interest in marine life, cave diving, wreck diving or simply the experience on a whole. But in order to experience these wonders we all need to learn, and safely. New Cross Sub Aqua Club practices the BSAC (British Sub Aqua Club) qualifications. BSAC is the governing body for sport diving in the United Kingdom and is recognised around the world. BSAC has an excellent reputation, boasting safety, excellence of tuition and a fun club environment. So if you are interested in trying this exciting and adventurous sport, here are the steps to take you into the world of diving. It's easier than you think! 1 E-mail our diving officer to arrange a date to come along to our pool at Dulwich College, and take part in a try dive. A try dive costs £15, lasts an hour an of course you urged to join us down the local! 2 Simply bring along your swimsuit/trunks, and we'll make sure there's one of our club instructors there to look after you. (Why not visit our meet us page). You will kitted out with our club kit, and at your own pace, be taken for a dive in the wonders of our swimming pool! Pool training is so crucialto training, and will prepare you for your future open water dives. 3 If you enjoy your experience, you can enrol to be trained as a BSAC Ocean Diver (or perhaps it's for a different qualification, depending on your experience). Training is every Wednesday 8.30pm (7.30pm if attending lectures) at Dulwich College. By this time you may be thinking of investing in your basic kit mask, snorkel and fins. Until then, you are more than welcome to use the clubs kit. 4 Even if you just want to come along for a visit and see what we do without getting wet, you more than welcome. Alternatively you can join us every Wednesday at the Alleyns Head pub we will be there from 10.00pm, after our training. FAQ's How much will the course cost and what do I get for my money?
