How much will my equipment cost?

Diving can be an expensive sport but you don't have to go crazy and by everything at one time! Again feel free to use the clubs kit, but if you want to start buying your own kit, below, we have provided you with some idea of what you can expect to pay.

Basic Kit... Below you will find the equipment you should purchase for your training at the pool. These purchases are mainly for your own comfort and will make your lessons all the more enjoyable.

Item
Description
Approx. Cost*

Mask – A mask that doesn't fit properly can be uncomfortable and can make mask clearing difficult for some. Try a few on to see which suits best.

£20-£60 approx*
Snorkel – An essential piece of kit. For just a bit of pipe it can conserve your cylinder air and doesn't create bubbles to scare away fishies!
£3-£25 approx*
Fins – There are two types of fin. However, for the pool most people will use pocket fins.

£20-£50 approx*
(pocket fins)

We are fortunate enough to have a member who owns his own dive shop and also gives a club members discount. Please visit the Club Shop page for more information.

* These costs are approximate. Different brands, models = very varied prices. Always shop around. Dive shows can prove very competitive, but do have an idea of what you want before you go.
